Takin it to the beach.............

Saturday was sooooooooooooooooooo sunny and gorgeous out Phil said Hey lets call Keir and Matt and see if they wanna meet up! That was all of 10 minutes and we were all on the road headed to Pacific Beach Ale House. Ha ha Didnt take much to get them motivated!
Matty n Keir............Good thing Matt had been there cuz we never had and had no clue where we were going.....Oh hello............right on the water!
I said a beer not a barrel. Oh well...........guess I'll drink it anyway! ha ha
We were cracking up. When youre walking up to the deck it seems like the stairs are seriously never ending............We came around the corner and it even says "Almost there! 11 more steps" we were like good cuz we were ready to turn around. Its like going up to rapunzels tower!

Good thing Matt has such a great sense of humor. I made him hold this pose for like 5 pictures cuz I was laughing and I couldnt take the picture. It took me so long he was like hang on........I need another sip.............
Hello smiling man...............Out with Keir, Matt and Me..........just happy as always.

After PB Ale Phil and I drove to Ocean Beach to walk along Newport Avenue, the Pier and go into South Beach Pub for the world famous fish tacos. Of course I dont eat them but I love to go along for the ride to anywhere fun.

~Took this pic for Mel and Ben in The Netherlands - Good ol days Mellie Mel~
My new necklace Phil got me at a lil shop on Newport Ave. The girls that owned it were Brazillian. Those Brazillian girls always have the best stuff!

Nice cruise along the Pier. What a perfect day in the sun.

This pelican was so rad. We took about 25 pictures of him. He posed for us for about 15 minutes. Changing from side to side, flapping his wings.........next thing ya know we had 30 tourists all around us taking pix of him........time to go. Off to Encinitas we went..........stopped at St. Tropez Bakery for a cup of coffee and a croissant, then Filabertos for me since I didnt have fish tacos earlier I was starved! 3 rolled tacos to go and the day was done.

Thank you San Diego. We Love You.

A 45 Yarder And A 44 Year old..................

Guess Im just full of surprises. For the past two weeks Ive been planning Phils 44th birthday party with a little twist. Phil played football all his life through junior college. He had scholarships to several colleges after a couple of years at Palomar but for whatever reason his family didnt approve. He was just a kid and being raised in a big Italian family you just did what you were told. By doing what he was told he declined the offers to play ball. I knew Phil when he played in high school but I dont ever remember seeing him play. We've talked about his football days a lot and I know it is always going to be one of those "What ifs" in his life. I cant change the past but I sure could create some fun in the present. So as a surprise I called Palomar and got approval from the athletic director for us to kick some goals at the college. Saturday I surprised him and we pulled up to the field. He was like what are we doing? He knows how many times Ive said to him "I sure wish I could have seen you kick" so the second question he asked me was "Am I kicking field goals for you?" ha ha YUP. I handed him a ball and some cleats and we hit the field.
After a quick warm up he just kicked the hell outta that ball as if it were 25 years ago. Boom! Goal. Boom! Another goal. Boom! Another. Luckily Jenny and the girls showed up cuz by the third kick he had broken the tee.

Little Kelis said "Dont worry Phil, I'll hold the ball for you with my finger, Ive done it at school!" ha ha what? This lil sweet thing holds the football? I wouldnt even do that! But she went right over there and knew exactly what to do! ha ha Im still laughing!!!!!!!!! A little while later more family and friends arrived...... Rich, Michelle, Cyd and Marty all showed at the field. Phil was kicking goal after goal after goal for an hour and a half. 45 yards was the longest of the day. 25 years ago in High School Phils longest kick was 50 yards. So needless to say.......the guy has still got a foot that coulda, woulda, shoulda gone to college..........But were here now and now its time for another surprise!
Surprise number two!!!!!! A pool party with family and friends!!!!!

We did it!!!! We kept a secret for two weeks! Yahoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Keirs boyfriend Matt got on the grill and cooked for 35 people! Ya Matty I owe you big!!!!

Mom, Jenna, Phil and Marianne - Thanks to mom for helping me shop and put the party together. She was a real trooper cuz while I was off enjoying Phil kicking at the college, mom was slaving away at the house cutting up all the lemons, limes, tomatoes...............ha ha poor mom!

Matt Keir Me Phil - A huge thanks to Keir for helping my mom - She got to the house early and got everything all set up at the pool. I put all the tables and decorations out but poor mom and Keir were stuck organizing it all. Ha ha They were awesome and like me, to see Phil so happy made them happy. A lot of planning but so fun.......Phils smile all day was worth a million bucks.

The day ended with Marianne helping us clean up and Phil and Mare jammin to some ol skool tunes.
Im exhausted from all the secrets I had to keep for two weeks but it was all worth it. Phil had an awesome time and that is all I wanted for him. We celebrated his life.............I love you B. You are all of my dreams come true wrapped into one. Happy 44th Birthday. ~Sweet Pea

Say Cheeeeeeeessssseeeeee!

OMG! Im just the luckiest girl in the world! We celebrated Valentines Day over the weekend to avoid annoying crowds and ridiculously overpriced set menus around town. But I guess that just wasnt going to be enough for Philip. I came home after work thinking maybe we would grab a cocktail somewhere and walked into the Valentines Day Palace! More balloons, Wine, Chocolates and something I have given up..............

CHEESEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
All time coolest balloon.......Says Youre Simply Irresistable and sings it! Classic!!!
I was just about to open the vino and DIVE INTO that cheese!!!!! Nope. That wasnt Phils plan....He said bundle up Buttercup were headin' out. We packed everything up and went and parked overlooking Swami's to watch the sunset. WOW! Blown away!

Dropped the tailgate, threw the blanket over us and just enjoyed another gorgeous day in *paradise*

I'm tickled pink!

Our set up

Sun is just about to set

An epic ending to an epic day.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!

***Happy Valentines Day to all of you lovers out there***

We celebrated our Valetines ahead of time and hit the Park Hyatt for the second year in a row ;-) Its our lil getaway from home ....just up and over the hill and were at the Hyatt!!! We crack up but we love it. We may only be 5 minutes away but when you pull up to the Hyatt and the valet guys come to grab your bags we immediately slip into vacation mode. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Room 409 - Just like last year! Whoo hoo - Woke up in the morning and sat on the balcony overlooking the pool and lagoon. Cool breeze, palm trees swaying, frogs in the back ground....ribbit....ribbit.........and our feet up as we sip our coffee and mimosas.

Had to get the full affect of the "Fake-Cation" and hop the shuttle to brunch at the Argyle just below the resort on the golf course.

Sun came out just in time for a warm relaxing brunch on the deck.

After brunch we took a drive down the coast to La Jolla. Windansea has always been an incredible place as that is where I raised Keir from when she was only 4 years old until she was 9. These stairs remind me of walking down Bonair to the beach. Little Keir was so small and would be carrying all sorts of stuff as she followed me down these steps. Taking Phil here was so amazing and fun - we felt to lucky to be able to spend the day in such a beautiful spot.

We arrived home and Keir and Matt had decorated the house for us!!!!!!!!!!!! What a huge surprise!!!!!!!! I love the streamers on the ceiling fan. They were going around and around when we walked in..........Love it!

Then we get upstairs and they had decorated the room too!!!!!!!! WHAT! You guys are too awesome!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY - I hope yours is as wonderful as ours was.

With Love, Angie
