Times are a changin'......yet stay the same

Friday was a big day for Keir and I. We both realized times are a changin................we're not in Kansas anymore Toto.
It finally hit us as we pulled up to Palomar Community College that Keir is graduating high school in June and a week later she turns 18.

Friday was the day we chose to begin the process of shopping colleges. This cool dome image is the gym. There are only 4 domes like this nationwide. HA! Cool.

After talking with the counselor we took a tour of the campus with the activity counselor. This clock tower was familiar to me since my dad had sent me a picture of himself in front of it just a few months ago when he was at Palomar taking some classes on Anthropology!
Now my dad is talking about taking classes again so he can meet Keir for lunch after class ;-) How cute would that be?
Grandfather and Granddaughter going to college together? Adorbs!

Our tour was awesome and we got a great feel of community college and how transferring to a university works. I feel much better than I did going in. I was so clueless and now feel like I at least understand the basics. Keir was overwhelmed but I feel better for her too so that she isnt walking into the process blindly. We left and were exhausted from thinking so much. HA HA!
After a big afternoon at the college on Friday it was nice to wake up Saturday morning, take a beach walk and get ready for my momma to come over for a girls lunch :)
I made us some fancy beef sliders and french fries with tons of different cheeses, sauces and vino. We never even left the table! Our feast was all right in front of us!!!!!! We talked for four hours. Such a great day!

Although times are a changin,
luckily the part of life we all love stays the same.........
Mi Familia.

That overwhelming feeling is familiar. I you ever have any questions, I've gotten to know the process lately and know a few tricks so feel free to ask. Speaking of tricks, myedu.com and pickaprof.com are awesome for checking out profs and finding out teaching styles. Myedu even shows stats which can be super helpful for finding out drop rates. So exciting! And family is definitely the most important thing :) .

Oh yay, you're back! I looked up your blog the other day and it showed the blog didn't exist. I kept the link just in case and am so glad I did. Thinking of you!
